A few years back I bought one of the vehicles for sale from japan after hearing loads of good things about reliability and getting something a bit different from the usual UK market options. The car itself seemed great at first, but I ended up having more hassle than expected with parts availability, insurance costs and a few DVLA registration bits that took longer than I thought they would.

It passed its MOT without major issues, but when things started needing repairs, some parts had to be ordered from abroad and the car spent more time off the road than I'd planned. With fuel prices and maintenance costs where they are now, I'm starting to wonder if I should have gone for a UK-supplied model instead.

Has anyone else bought a vehicle that they later regretted? Doesn't have to be an import. What went wrong, and would you make the same choice again knowing what you know now?
