Fastest Way to Reach Norikura Skyline in Forza Horizon 6

One of the biggest reasons players keep returning to Forza Horizon 6 is the map itself. The mix of dense Tokyo highways, mountain roads, and countryside routes makes simply driving around feel rewarding. Among all the roads in the game, Norikura Skyline has quickly become one of the most popular touge locations for drifting, downhill battles, and high-speed mountain runs.

If your goal is to reach Norikura Skyline as quickly as possible, there are actually several different methods depending on how far you are into the game. Some are instant, while others are better if you still want part of the driving experience.

Use Fast Travel Anywhere for Instant Access

The fastest overall method is unlocking unrestricted fast travel.

Once you purchase the player house that unlocks the “Fast Travel Anywhere” perk, the map becomes much easier to navigate. Instead of driving across Japan every time, you can instantly teleport directly onto any discovered road section, including the Norikura mountain area.

This becomes even better after smashing Fast Travel Bonus Boards scattered around the world. Every board permanently lowers the credit cost of fast travel. Eventually, teleporting becomes completely free, which is extremely useful if you spend a lot of time tuning cars or repeating mountain runs.

For players who regularly drift or race on Norikura Skyline, unlocking free fast travel is honestly one of the best long-term upgrades in the game. It saves a massive amount of time.

Teleport to Events Near the Mountain

If you have not unlocked unrestricted fast travel yet, there is still an easy shortcut many players use.

Open the world map and look for nearby events around Norikura Skyline. Street races, touge battles, and downhill events usually work best. The “Norikura Descent” race is one of the easiest options.

After selecting the event, choose the option to fast travel or join matchmaking. The game automatically places your car at the race starting point, which is usually right beside the mountain pass itself.

This method is basically a free teleport system for newer players. You skip the long drive while still gaining access to the area early in the game.

It is especially useful if you are farming skill points, practicing drifting, or meeting friends online for mountain runs.

The Fastest Driving Route

Sometimes you actually want to drive there instead of teleporting. In that case, choosing the right route matters a lot.

The quickest driving approach starts from the Tokyo urban zone or the C1 Loop highway system. Use a car with excellent top speed and highway stability because most of the early route is built around long expressways.

Hypercars and heavily tuned AWD builds work especially well here. Cars with poor high-speed handling tend to become unstable once traffic density increases on the expressways.

From Tokyo, head north-west toward the Japanese Alps region using the major highway network. The roads stay wide and fast for most of the trip, allowing you to maintain high average speeds.

Eventually the route transitions into narrower mountain roads as you approach the Norikura area. This is where grip tuning starts to matter more than raw speed. Many players switch from highway setups to touge-focused suspension tuning before entering the climb.

The transition itself is part of what makes the drive memorable. You go from neon-lit city highways to tight mountain corners in just a few minutes.

Best Cars for Reaching Norikura Quickly

If your main goal is speed and efficiency, these vehicle types work especially well:

  • AWD hypercars for highway travel
  • Lightweight grip builds for mountain climbing
  • Stable S1-class cars for mixed terrain
  • Tuned Japanese sports cars for touge driving

A lot of players prefer balanced builds instead of pure top-speed monsters because the final mountain section punishes heavy cars with weak handling.

Cars inspired by classic Japanese touge culture also simply feel more natural on the road. The tighter corners and elevation changes fit them perfectly.
