We had a pretty intense debate at the office lunch today about data recovery and binary structures. One of the junior devs claimed he could use an online file corrupter to scramble a document and then perfectly restore it just by fixing a few lines of code in a hex editor.
It sounds like a lot of tedious work for very little gain, but I’m fascinated by how a single missing bit can ruin an entire professional project. I’m curious if anyone here has actually tried to rebuild a document after using an online file corrupter.
