My route to work has some seriously beat up sections of road with cracks and uneven patches that I can't really avoid. I feel like my car takes a beating every single day. I've been trying to learn techniques for driving smoothly on rough city roads because I'm worried about long term damage to the suspension and even just my own comfort. I already try to slow down when I see a bad patch coming up, but sometimes you just can't react in time. Does anyone have tips for how to hold the steering wheel or position the car to minimize the jolts? Also, does tire pressure make a big difference in how the car absorbs these bumps? I'm running them at the recommended pressure but wondering if a slight adjustment might help without causing other problems.
