Mebendazole tablets are an antiparasitic medication widely used in humans to treat infections caused by intestinal worms. They are most commonly prescribed for conditions such as roundworm , hookworm infections, whipworm, pinworm, and mixed worm infestations. Mebendazole 100mg  works by preventing worms from absorbing glucose, which is essential for their survival. As a result, the parasites lose energy, become immobilized, and are eventually eliminated from the body through normal bowel movements. This medicine is usually taken by mouth and can be consumed with or without food, depending on the doctor’s instructions. In many cases, treatment lasts for one to three days, although some infections may require a longer course or a repeat dose after a few weeks. Mebendazole is generally well tolerated when used at recommended doses. Common side effects may include mild stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea, or headache, which usually resolve on their own. Mebendazole tablets are often recommended as part of deworming programs, especially in areas where worm infections are common. However, they should only be used under medical guidance, particularly for young children, pregnant women, or individuals with liver problems. Proper hygiene and sanitation, along with medication, help prevent reinfection and ensure effective treatment.
