Lately I’ve been seeing people replace sugar with jaggery in the name of “healthy eating,” but I’m not sure how much of that is actually true. I recently read an in-depth article exploring does jaggery increase weight and it challenged a lot of things I assumed.
The interesting point it made was that jaggery may have minerals and antioxidants, but the calorie load is still very similar to sugar—so if someone consumes it freely thinking it’s “healthy,” it might still contribute to weight gain.
So I wanted to ask the community: Have you ever tried using jaggery instead of sugar? Did it make any noticeable difference in your weight, cravings, or overall health?
I’d love to hear real experiences instead of generic “natural is better” statements.
