The Foracort 200 Inhaler is a combination drug used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma over the long term. It has 200 mcg of Budesonide, a corticosteroid that lowers inflammation in the airways, and 6 mcg of Formoterol, a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles in the airways to facilitate breathing. Foracort, in contrast to quick-relief inhalers, is used on a regular basis to manage chronic symptoms and avoid asthma attacks rather than to treat acute respiratory problems. Wheezing, dyspnoea, and tightness in the chest are among the symptoms that it helps lessen in frequency and intensity. Patients who need both bronchodilating and anti-inflammatory therapy for moderate to severe asthma are usually offered Foracort 200.
